So tired

I have not been keeping up with my blog well this week. I am so tired. Such long days with Beloved being in school. He had been such a help to me around the house! And there have just been some things that need to be done that I have just had to do. But such is life! I am looking forward to a slow weekend. Last weekend was far from slow! I got my shopping done today though and tomorrow I hope to relax just a little bit. Maybe even have a nap! I know I will be taking Erica to the pool again most likely. I did buy her the summer pass, a shame not to use it and she loves going so much. And it is such good exercise for her. I hope you are all doing well and staying cool.

Proud to announce

That beloved has passed all his written tests for his CDL and his bus endorsements! Now he is working on the driving part. It was hot on the cement pad where they start that today and he didn't have enough water for the day. He came home hot, thirsty and sunburned. Tomorrow on top of his two huge reusable water bottles, he is going to take a one gallon cooler of ice water also. Five more weeks of school for him. I know he will continue to do well. He is smart and he has a lot of experience driving different vehicles. Just a matter of a little getting used to them.

Beloved has finished his first week of schooling!

Well it was only four days really because he had to go to Columbus today and get his fingerprinting done. Yesterday and today he went to the DMV and passed all of his written tests for his CDL. Tomorrow he is going to try to get back in to do his written tests for the bus. There are two of those. And they should be a little easier than some of the ones he already had. Only five more weeks of school for him and then hopefully he will have a new job! That would be nice because things just keep getting tighter and tighter around here! Monday he starts the driving part on the Semis.

Beloved had his first day of class today

It went well, but they are moving fast since it is cut in half of what it normally runs. He has to go to Columbus for his first test Friday! I am sure he will do well, he is a smart cookie. But it is weird to see him studying! Not to mention he now goes to bed way before I do, because of my online work schedule and his classes start at 7 AM. Missed him something awful today, but time to get used to it!

Why must everything be political?

Even places where there should be no politics? We are Beloved and I are having issues with a ministry we work with. Basically they have run off all the volunteers they used to have and we have been helping for almost a year. But they have now run us off as well. Why? Well because they don't want to accept any new ideas to improve things, they don't want to trust anyone else to handle anything, and at least one of them wants all the glory that belongs to GOD. It saddens me that Beloved and I are now leaving this ministry, but I feel that God is telling me that I need to take my talents and efforts to where they will be better utilized. It does sadden me though. I have tried for nine months, I guess there is no since in beating a dead horse to death. I have been accused of stepping on people's toes, shoving things down peoples throats, and being a total embarrassment. Then they turn around and tell me they need my talents please keep helping. Those things don't seem like talents to me. I did manage to buy enough deodorant for women, mayo, mac and cheese, tuna helper and hot dogs for them this month to give to 60 families in this ministry. I spent $115 of ministry money, but I am still not to be trusted! I really hope that God has a bigger ministry for me to help. I do love helping those in need, but I don't love politics. Any one else had similar situations?

A great shopping day!

I went to the grocery today and saved a ton! I got 8 bags of shredded cheese for the freezer, four packages of chicken, 28 easy macs (for lunches when school starts), 16 jars of mayo (some for me and some for the church outreach), 8 deodorant (outreach), 8 seasoning packets, two loaves of bread, a gallon of milk and some M&M's (hey who am I to turn down free chocolate?). I saved over $100 and spent $23! Of course this was all name brand stuff, because I don't get coupons for generics, so never get generics free. The meat was on manager markdown and I had coupons for $1 off it also! Great shopping day when I can get a whole cart full of food for less than $25! I just don't know what I would do without coupons! If you haven't given them a try, I highly suggest it! They are much easier to use than most people think with the help of this site. It helps you get the best prices on everything, and you don't have to clip coupons until the sale hits and you need them if you file by insert. I love it! Been using it four years and will for many more.

How many meals have you gotten from your garden?

Last night my girl wanted HOBO dinners. So I pulled some round steak out of the freezer and we went to the garden. We harvested a bucket of potatoes, some carrots, some bell peppers, some banana peppers, some tomatoes and a cabbage. Everything went into foil pouches except the cabbage it had it's own foil pouch. Cooked it up on the grill. From garden to plate in less than two hours and so yummy! You just can't beat cheap, healthy and quick. Even the meat had been bought on manager markdown and topped with a coupon!

Photobucket Dinner from the garden.

Photobucket Enough new potatoes for one night's dinner for a family of four from one five gallon bucket!

My girls is home!

I picked my girl up from camp last night! She had a great time and can't wait to go back. I am glad she loved church camp! She is so tired and had a hard time making it through church today. But she got a nap when she got home and feels a little better now! She is already excited and planning for nest year!

I really miss my girl!

I am really missing my girl. I only dropped her off Monday evening and it is only Wednesday evening. But I miss her so much. I can't wait to pick her up Saturday evening, but I really don't expect her to be ready to come home! She has so many great activities along with Bible study and memory verses there are the zip lines, and the rock climbing and rappelling, and the 12 mile canoe trip, and the trip to the water slides, and the huge hike they are going on. On top of that there is the pool time and all kinds of other stuff! I can't wait to hear from her. I didn't get a letter today, but hope I do tomorrow. I of course am writing her every day.

I did get the coupons this week and went and purchased the hot dogs for our next church outreach hand out. I managed to get us 82 packs again this month and paid less than $15 total. Those will get us through this month and have a few left over. I also ordered some hamburger/tuna helper coupons and will be getting that very cheap. I hate that so many people use it, but we are handing out to some with very limited cooking skills. So we have to give out what they will/are able to do so that we are really helping them. I am hoping that some of them are using the homemade helper recipes I handed out. I really do need to get some more recipes ready for the next one though. It is right around the corner. I am trying to get back to posting more often, I have just been so darn busy!

Well I guess she isn't a baby now

DD is off to summer camp for the first time. I dropped her off yesterday evening. She is going to have a blast, but I miss her so much! I know she is in good hands, it is Church camp after all. And she has so many activities! I keep telling myself what a great time she is having and how much she is learning. I can't wait to hear all about it. I have already sent her letters and am hoping she will get one every day! I also hope she sends momma one or two while she is there!

Beloved is all set to go to school hope it works out great! I know this is a huge step for him. Gotta love him for jumping into a new career!
